President Lorenzo Snow taught - “The law of tithing is one of the most important law, ever revealed to man, through obeying this law the blessings of prosperity and success will be given to the saints.” 1 It has been a challenge to save ten per cent of the income during the pandemic and lockdown, as we were asked not to pay until notified. However, I decided to keep that money aside and save it in a separate bank account so that I can follow the commandment and pay it immediately when asked.
There were many times I wanted to use that saved money and thought that I could replace it later. However, the thought that it is the Lord’s money and must be paid in the future helped me overcome those temptations, and I knew that my needs would be taken care of. This simple act of faith helped me in those difficult times. My faith and obedience to the Lord’s commandment opened the windows of heaven for me, I was promoted in my job, and I had an increase in my pay. I was blessed more than I expected; I was successful at work. I know that tithing is a commandment from God to help His children, and as we give Ten per cent with all our heart, exercising faith, He would bless us in time of our need.
