Having the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has always been a great blessing in my life. My blessings are countless. It has changed me to be a better person always. During this pandemic COVID situation, to help us to be spiritually strengthened, our district Primary presidency conducted a ten day online summer camp activity for the kids. As a family, together with my husband we helped our 3 year old child Sachin actively participate in the camp. My husband, who is not a member of the Church, always showed love and support for all our Church activities. We started to collect names and details of our ancestors as one of the day’s activities to make a family tree of our own.
It was quite easy to do the family history work for my side of the family side since I had gathered some information before. But I had never had an opportunity to talk about the details of my husband’s family with him. I took this opportunity and explained to my husband about the importance of family history work and our own family tree. He helped us by calling his parent’s side of the family to gather information. I was very happy to see this. We had helping hands from my mother and my niece too. I have no doubt that the spirit of Elijah stirred his heart. When we finally completed our family tree, our joy was full.
I am grateful for this wonderful opportunity to discover our own family tree by helping our son do this activity. I felt the importance of teaching my son, my husband and my family about our ancestors. I am grateful to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for this wonderful opportunity to learn about the importance of family history as a family and to teach my husband and my son. I am also grateful to the Primary presidency for this activity. I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ unites families even on the other side of the veil. I know that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live. I testify that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the true word of God. I also testify that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the face of the earth. Russell M Nelson is the true Prophet called for our days. I am grateful to the Lord for giving me an adorable husband, a lovely child and caring family members.
