“I have been born of goodly parents,” 1 Just like Nephi, I too would like to testify of the same. I am blessed to be born in a faithful and humble family. My parents taught me and my siblings the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their exemplary life taught us the Attributes of Jesus Christ.
When I was young, I fell sick, and people around me thought I might not be able to make it. The doctors also said it would be hard for me to survive. It is a miracle that I am alive today and stronger than before. As the Lord said, “I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”2
When it was the right time, I decided to serve our Lord with all my heart, might and strength. I learned the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the impact one can have by following him. I learned how to love others regardless of the differences in opinions, which taught me to be humble, strong, and patient in life. I cherished every day of my life as a volunteer. I have gained even stronger testimony about the power of Jesus Christ’s Atonement in my life.
After I served as a full-time volunteer, I was worried about my future. My career, education, and spiritual life were all a big puzzle to me. The Lord performed many miracles, and he blessed me abundantly because of my choice to serve Him. I was blessed with multiple job opportunities; I finished my MBA, and I am a better person with a strong testimony in the Lord.
The promise from the scripture that says, “Seek ye first kingdom of God and everything shall be added unto you”3 It happened to me, and I know that it will happen to anyone who seeks His kingdom first. I know my redeemer lives, and we have living prophets and apostles leading us in these last days. My service as a full-time volunteer to our Lord has changed my life completely.
