I have always pondered, “Why did our Lord choose few to fulfil His plan?” Later, I have come to an understanding that God foreordained them. Heavenly Father loves us all so much, and he knows that we need someone to guide us and teach us. That is why he appointed men as prophets to guide us back to him, just like the old times.
Through prophets, the Lord showed His infinite love, taught us what we need to do, guides us to choose right, and helped us understand how to live as a child of God. The words that we receive through the prophets are from the Lord, “Prophets speak not only to the people of their time, but they also speak to people throughout all time. Their voices echo through the centuries as a testament of God’s will to His children.” 1We are blessed to have a living prophet, President Russell. M. Nelson and to hear him. We strive to live by every word of the prophet. There are times, I thought, “why did the prophet give us ‘Come Follow Me’ and invited us to study it as a family? I have enough to study spiritually, then why Come follow me?” I have come to an understanding that the Lord does reveal them with a purpose, and the answer came to me through pandemic; I understood the reason and love behind that preparation.
As scriptures say, prophets are “Watchmen on the Tower,” 2 prophets watch over us and warn us. The words in the scriptures are very powerful, and it helps me to discipline my life. My testimony for our Saviour increases as I listen and obey the voice of His servants. I believe that as I follow the words of the prophets and leaders, I can be safe and strong, holding on to the iron rod.
