Mother, You Are The Heart Of Our Home

Mothers are special and I hope we all agree to that. The pandemic has hit us hard especially our land India and the key to our survival is our hope in raising our children in the Lord and teaching them the truth related to the Plan of Salvation. Hope is a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen and that is what we can as nurturers cultivate in our children a spirit of hope that all will be well and this too shall pass.

The Malviya Nagar Ward, India New Delhi Stake recently had a Mother’s Day activity and made beautiful cards to express their love and appreciation for the mothers. The children enjoyed making cards and were in an absolute rush to present them to their mothers. We thank the Primary Presidency for organizing such activities amidst challenging circumstances and appreciating our mothers who are our celebrated “heroes”. To conclude the Primary activity, the children sang “Mother, I love you”.

Mother, I love you; mother, I do.
Father in Heaven has sent me to you.
When I am near you, I love to hear you
Singing so softly that you love me too.

Mother, I love you; mother, I do.
I want to help you because I love you.
I want to mind you; I want to find you
Happy and smiling because I love you.

Mother, I love you; I love you; I do. 1

Let’s remember this one thing by Corrie Ten Boom: “When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t throw away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer.”

And as Elder Jeffrey R. Holland has said; “Hope on. Journey on.” 2
