When the pandemic started, missionary work changed from being in-person to virtual. One day our beloved Asia Area President, Elder Evans, attended our mission devotional. In the devotional, he gave a promise to all the missionaries. He said, 'Your families will be safe in God's hands. He will protect them from all dangers.' I felt Elder Evans was comforting us at that time because we all were worried about our families during the pandemic. But the promised blessing which Elder Evans gave applied to my family in a different way.
My father had an accident at his work; he fell from the 3rd floor. Those who worked with him thought that my dad was no more. They came down and were shocked because he was getting up by himself. He had a minor shoulder injury, and by God's grace, he is fine. My dad explained to me how God protected him when he was falling. He said someone held him with hands and slowly dropped him to the ground. My family and I firmly believe that God held my father. From the scriptures we read, 'What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.' 1 When Elder Evans gave that promised blessing, it came from God. I know that when our eye is single to the glory of God, we become worthy to receive lots of blessings that are in store for us and sometimes even blessings that are above our expectations. This blessing has uplifted my family. I know that the Lord always fulfils his promises; he always protects us from danger when we follow His commandments.
