Growing up in the Gospel, I have always loved this hymn; It is very dear to my heart. It ultimately shows His love for me. Jesus Christ’s Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane is one of my Treasured events from scriptures; He took the whole world’s sins upon Him. I am sure it was not easy for him; he obeyed Heavenly Father and took all of our sins. Jesus prayed unto our Heavenly Father that he would receive strength to handle this challenging task. He was bleeding at every pore; even then, Christ did not pray that this challenge should be taken away. Instead, he prayed, “O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” 2 What an incredible example of obedience he was, even during his most difficult times. One cannot comprehend the pain and suffering he went through.
We all are blessed because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. At-one-moment he was crucified for all our sins and rose again. The Lord didn’t want us to fall into the trap of Satan. So, he was crucified for all of our sins. How great is his love! This has taught me a great lesson; when we face challenges, we should ask God to give us the strength to overcome them, and that is what God expects from us; he wants us to believe in him; that is all he needs. I know that my redeemer lives, and he loves and cares for each one of us.
