Growing spiritually stronger through our callings

Visakhapatnam 2nd Branch, India New Delhi Mission

Meghana Vardhanapu

I’m delighted to share my experience with the various callings I’ve had the privilege to serve in. When I was 17, I was called to be a class president. Initially, I felt a bit concerned because most of the other young women were much younger than I was. Reaching out to them felt challenging, as it often meant first connecting with their parents to get in touch with them. However, my presidency offered tremendous support during that time, which made a significant difference.

When I turned 18, I was called to serve as the 2nd Counselor in the Young Women Presidency of the Vizag 2nd Branch. I was overjoyed to receive this calling because it allowed me to continue serving the young women while still being part of the same age group. Throughout my service, I witnessed the Lord’s hand guiding me. Despite the added responsibilities, I was able to excel in my schooling, thanks to the time management skills I developed. Being punctual for Branch council meetings became a priority, and I found myself more organized and focused.

D&C106:3 “And devote his whole time to this high and holy calling, which I now give unto him, seeking diligently the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness, and all things necessary shall be added thereunto; for the laborer is worthy of his hire.” This scripture that always helped me keep my priorities straight and fueled my desire to serve the Lord was a constant source of strength. I felt truly blessed that the Lord chose me to fulfill His work. Balancing personal life and Church callings can indeed be challenging. But when I turned to Heavenly Father and the Savior Jesus Christ in prayer, seeking His help with sincere intent, I felt at ease and was always guided.

I experienced His presence in every small detail of my life, and I know He loves me—and all of us— deeply. Heavenly Father has given us His Only Begotten Son to be our Savior and Redeemer. Through my callings and assignments in the Church, I have grown spiritually stronger and drawn closer to God.
