I feel fortunate to share an amazing experience during a recent Relief Society activity in our branch. On the 26th of January, I attended our branch Relief Society activity, with the theme 'Finding Our Strength Together.' We had a wonderful workshop where we had the opportunity to reflect on the strengths and talents each of us possesses. This workshop made me contemplate the question: To what extent am I putting my talents and strengths to effective use? Am I actively improving them, or am I inadvertently hiding my talents?
One scripture that came to my remembrance when I pondered these questions was from
“But with some, I am not well pleased, for they will not open their mouths, but they hide the talent which I have given unto them because of the fear of man. Wo unto such, for mine anger is kindled against them. “1
Through this activity, I learned that each of us possesses unique talents, and we must nurture and develop these talents. Doing so opens ourselves to God's blessings, becoming inspirations in others' lives and instruments in His glorious work. We enjoyed engaging in fun games with our partners as part of the activity. A delightful aspect was that each sister in the Relief Society received a 'SASH' representing a unique quality or talent within them.
This activity has brought a beautiful smile to each sister's face, acknowledging, and celebrating the recognition and accolades they received. Often, many women are not acknowledged for their inherent beauty and uniqueness, both inside and out.
I humbly invite each of you to please cultivate and enhance your talents and never allow self-discouragement or self-degradation. I am confident that God is by your side, and his guiding hands are always present. I feel blessed to have been a part of this activity and am grateful to share my thoughts in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
