The Lord is always mindful of His children in all situations. Sisters from Chavadi and Tirupur branches in Coimbatore celebrated the 180th Relief Society birthday memorably in their respective branches. The relief society presidency made a special effort to invite the sisters with prayer through a special call and a welcome note. The call was not made only for the active sisters but for every single sister in the branch. This special call made most sisters attend the celebration with enthusiasm and love.
To make the sisters feel special and loved by our loving Heavenly Father, the relief society presidency of the Tirupur branch was prompted to present a thoughtful gift to the sisters. The quote by President. Gordon B Hinckley, 'Let us all try to stand a little taller, rise a little higher, be a little better. Make the extra effort. You will be happier.' 1 was the theme of the gathering. The phrase 'Stand a little taller' in the gift made the sisters stand a little taller at home, at work, at church, and in society. Each woman felt happy and understood their potential. It made them feel that they were special in the sight of the Lord.
Similarly, the Chavadi branch Relief society presidency made a great effort to gather 30 sisters, among which half were semi-active. In order to activate the sisters, the leaders made some changes in the ministering list as prompted by the spirit. While preparing the list, they were struck with one name of a sister who didn't turn up for many years to the church. Later, during the celebration, they were surprised to see that particular sister in church; indeed, it was a miracle. This made the sisters gain a testimony about the promptings of the spirit to magnify the calling; It is a blessing from God. We read from scriptures, 'Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God' 2 this seems to be true. If we pray and care for each other, we will be led to his children.
