Ministering is Christlike caring for others. Whenever I think about ministering, I just

remember the scripture from 'A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another’’1. When I minister, I am representing Jesus Christ to watch over, lift, and strengthen those around me. Ministering helps me to share Christlike love toward others. The feeling of being part of Ministering is an overwhelming experience. The simplest acts of service can have a huge impact on others as well as on ourselves. Jesus Christ is the greatest example of ministering; by following His example, I have personally learnt a lot of things. Often small acts of service are all required to lift and bless another.

On one of my ministering assignments, I asked one of the family a simple question, 'How are you doing?' The answer was, 'We are fine.' Then I asked, 'Is it just fine? And the reply was more than just fine; the family shared their concerns, then I said that 'concerns or anything which is troubling them is not forever and they are not alone, the Savior is there for us, and He loves us.' The spirit prompted me to have that conversation; the family already knew all these things but at that time, what they needed was someone to hear them and build faith that the Lord is aware of the challenges that they are going through. I felt joy as I served them; it was ministering over a phone call. With the many benefits of technology, we can use it to the best to minister to others.

I remembered the time I was ministered to when I had troubles in my career, I was

unable to focus on things and was perplexed. During these troubled times, a brother assigned to minister to me shared a simple phrase that everyone knows 'God loves you.' Until he ministered to me, I thought about the problem, and I had lost sight of God being with me. His words made me think that God was on my side; I was assured that God would be with me no matter whatever happened. I had this new sense of glad feeling, hope, happiness, and peace, which was needed for my troubled heart and mind because my ministering brother cared and showed Christlike love towards me.

Whenever we have troubles, we are not alone in this; the Savior knows that we all need ministering. Which says, 'For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meat? But I am among you as he that serveth.' 2 Serving our fellow members is equal to serving our Lord, which is the greatest motivation for me to do my ministering assignment. And when I do this, I feel great comfort. I feel Christ-like love when I minister to others and am ministered by others.
