Fathers are special, and so is mine. My father has always been someone I look up to and seek advice and counsel from, in times of need. During the pandemic, my father was afflicted with the deadly Coronavirus. I went through a plethora of emotions as I couldn’t hug and feel my father for a while. I was kept away from him, and I felt a sudden rush of fear and despair. I saw him kept away from me in another room. I saw him from a distance and couldn’t refrain from requesting him to hug me just once, knowing the consequences of this emotional need. However, I did abide by the Covid protocols. This time helped me to realize how much I loved my father and how much his presence meant to me.
How precious is father’s presence to a child? I realized how grateful each of us should be for a family presided by a righteous father, who acts as a Presider, protector and provider. I am so thankful to know about the Plan of Salvation which reminds me that no separation is forever. I am grateful for the strength to pray every day, seek inspiration, receive guidance from the scriptures and attend my Primary classes. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and has given me an exemplary father for whom my heart is eternally grateful. I am thankful for the many blessings in my life; the most important is my family and the Gospel.
